Description and details:

As you know, the one-year anniversary of the Interstate 35W Bridge collapse is just weeks away. There will be public ceremonies to commemorate the tragic event and remember the victims, survivors, and their families.

We hope that you can join in these events, which will both be held Friday, Aug. 1.

  • 11 a.m., Basilica of St. Mary’s. An interfaith service with readings and music from many different faiths.
  • 4:30 p.m., Gold Medal Park. A public remembrance starting at 4:30 p.m. Music touching on the many cultures of survivors and victims will be performed, followed by a procession to the Stone Arch bridge. A moment of silence will be observed on the bridge at 6:05, ending with church bells chiming throughout Minneapolis and the state.
